Bradley H. Gerstenfeld, known better by his stage name, Brad Garrett, is a stand-up comedian, voice over artist, actor and a professional poker player too. Garrett begun his career in stand-up comedy back in 1980 and quickly found that he had a talent for making people laugh. A few years later, he decided to advance in his career by moving into TV and film. He started out taking on small parts, mostly guest roles in sitcoms and TV shows, but it wasn’t long before he landed his first major role as Robert Barone in ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’. Since then, he’s mostly done voice work in children’s films, such as Finding Nemo, Night at the Museum and Tangled, and has won several awards for his work.
Acting, stand-up comedy, and voice-over work isn’t the only thing Brad Garrett excels at. He is also a professional poker player, although he has also struggled with addiction in the past too. Performing in several different tournaments each year, Brad Garrett is a worthy opponent who shouldn’t be underestimated. Not only is he fairly intimidating to look at, standing at well over two meters tall, but he is also excellent at the game, and is tough to beat. As a comedian, few people choose to take him seriously, but he rarely ever loses a game!
Not only does he compete in poker, but he also participates in a lot of charity poker matches too, to raise money for several good causes. He also likes to play for fun in his own club, playing with friends and family just for the entertainment of a good game.
However, despite being so good at the game and loving poker, Brad Garrett has previously dealt with a minor gambling addiction and, for a while, had to stop playing the game because he couldn’t stop betting all of his money and money he didn’t have in the games he was playing. Luckily, he was able to receive some help and managed to overcome his addiction so much so that he is still able to play quite safely today.
